Practice In Action Returning to Guatemala in February

With a mutual interest of giving back to the world, Emily Warr, founder of The Rustic House and Maggie White, founder of Exhale Love, are blending their passions into a week-long experience--a Practice in Action service trip to Lake Atitlán in the highlands of the Sierra Madre mountains, benefiting Guatemala-based non-profit Rising Minds.

The Practice in Action will consist of exploring the shores, villages, and waters of Lake Atitlán. Described as one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, Lago de Atitlán is surrounded by iconic volcanoes, natural beauty, and vibrant Mayan villages.

The trip will include three days of cultural immersion and volunteer work with our local partners Rising Minds, daily meditation and yoga practices, options for hiking, adventure, and peaceful relaxation. Hosts at Mayachik Eco Hotel are an eco-friendly community aimed at self-sustainability.

To raise money for Rising Minds, $12 of each TRH Agave + Lime Candle addresses educational, agricultural and medical needs for the non-profit; from planting medicinal gardens, to building fences and painting murals.

Together, trip-goers will co-create with local partners for a week of experiential education of the mind, body, and spirit. In this ever-changing climate of cultural and social evolution, it’s important to cultivate a living practice of exploration, connection, and appreciation.
